Abbas Mustan's sequel to Race 2008 - Race 2 release date has been scheduled. The movie will release in 2013 and will have Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone in lead roles. Race 2 has been produced under the banners of Tips Music Films.

Apart from Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone, the movie will also cast John Abraham, Jacqueline Fernandes, Anil Kapoor and Ameesha Patel as supporting roles.

Release Date: January 25, 2013.

Plot: The story starts from the end of the prequel where Ranvir Singh destroys the fortune of Kabir. This destruction done to Kabir leads him into depression and to take the revenge of this harm done to his father, Armaan vows to destroy Ranvir Singh and the second race begins.

Controversy: The first phase of shooting of Race started late by a month on november 5 2011 to accomodate Deepika's schedule.  It ended on the 20th of November. Again when the second phase was to start on 23 Jan 2012, Deepika dropped out within 6 days and said that the film shoot's reschedule was the cause and became an issue of controversy as the producer Ramesh Taurani stated that Deepika had an unproffesional and unacceptable attitude towards them.
