Alia Bhatt to star in '2 states' - a remake of Chetan Bhagat's novel 2 states.

Chetan Bhagat's popular novel '2 states' will now be depicted in a movie. The movie will have Arjun Kapoor in the lead role. The heroine of the movie has not yet been decided, but the director of the movie Karan Johar has decided to test Alia Bhatt for the lead female role in his movie.

Alia Bhatt is the daughter of filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and will be making her debut in the bollywood this year with Karan Johar's Student of the year. Buzz has it that Alia was auditioned by K Jo for the lead female role in the adaptation of the best seller of Chetan Bhagat - 2 states.

The novel 2 states will finally be a movie with Arjun Kapoor but the lead female star still remains a mystery. 

Two states is the story of a punjabi boy and a tamil girl who meet in IIM- Ahmedabad. Within a few days of their life at college, the boy falls in love with the girl and both have to face cultural clashes between the two communities.
